George Wein is a jazz promoter and producer who has been called "the most famous jazz impresario in jazz history". He is the founder of what is probably the most well-known jazz festival in the United States, the Newport Jazz Festival and has produced jazz shows and festivals all over the world for many years, mostly under the name of Festival Productions which he founded. He has been honored by two American presidents and named a "Jazz Master" by the National Endowment for the Arts. George’s first love, however, is the piano and performing, which caused him to form and lead the Newport All Stars. It is an honor to have George sailing with us on The Jazz Cruise 2011.
