Pianist, composer and arranger Bill Mays comes from a musical family. In 1969, after a few years playing music in the Navy and in the San Diego music scene, Bill made the big move to Los Angeles, where Bill had many invigorating collaborations in L.A. and eventually became a fixture in the Hollywood recording studios. Bill finally moved to the Jazz Mecca, New York, in 1984, where his influence and fame grew exponentially. Always one of the most “in-demand” performers, Bill Mays is a prominent component of The Jazz Cruise, whether he is performing with the All Stars, his own group or as the pianist for the big band.
