Whether it is leading their world famous big band or making magic with their quintet, Bassist John Clayton and Reed Player Jeff Clayton have been and continue to be among the most sought after performers in the genre. Joining them for the cruise is an extra treat, as John’s son, the renowned pianist Gerald Clayton will be part of the quintet, together with Trumpeter Terrell Stafford (see bio) and Drummer Obed Calvaire. After seven Grammy® nominations, John Clayton was awarded a Grammy® for his arrangement on Queen Latifah’s recent CD, “Travlin Light” in 2008. During his amazing career, Jeff has worked with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton, Lena Horne, McCoy Tyner, and Dee Dee Bridgewater.
